I just finished watching a very good movie! You have to see it!

"Temple Grandin"
Starring Claire Danes, Julia Ormond, David Strathairn, & Catherine O'Hara.

Claire Danes plays an autistic girl named Temple Grandin. I am fascinated by the study of human behavior so that's why I enjoyed this movie so much. This movie is based on a true story. I googled her name after I watched the movie and found some you tube videos of the real Temple Grandin.

Claire Danes did an amazing job at acting like someone who is autistic. I was very impressed. I found the movie very enlightening, and interesting. She falls in love with cattle and they become her passion in life. She comes up with some inventions that make her famous. She's very intelligent, but she lacks the ability to socialize with other people. People make her nervous so she runs to her "hug box".

I won't say more.....you have to watch the movie. :)

Leah's movie reviews.

The movies we watched Saturday night were kind of weird. I wouldn't recommend them. So since you'll probably not watch them, I'll just tell you all about them.

The first one we watched was
"Freedomland"
Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Julianne Moore, and Edie Falco.

It's about this boy that goes missing and Samuel L. Jackson is the detective. Julianne Moore is the mom and she is crazy. The whole entire movie your trying to figure out what happened to the boy. He's 4 years old, same age as my boy, so that made it hard to watch. The mom said someone carjacked her and her boy was left in the car. Meanwhile there is rioting going on in some black ghetto because they are on a lock down because they think some guy there has something to do with the missing boy.

In the end the mom confesses what really happened...the little boy had drank a whole bottle of cough syrup and died. It's because the mom had been giving it to him every night to settle him down and get him to sleep. She would say "Drink your night vitamins." Well, one night she was fighting with her boyfriend and she left her boy home alone. When she was leaving he said, "If you leave me, you'll regret it." And when she came home he was dead and had drank the entire bottle. She had her boyfriend take him out in the woods and bury him. Stupid, stupid, lady...the movie was dumb because the entire time you are wondering what happened to the kid and then you just find out that his mom is lying and he's really not missing. He's dead.
It's sad.

Sarah, I'm sure you know sad stories like that since you work at a hospital and with children.

Okay now the second movie.

"Hard Candy"
Starring Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page.
Man this movie was crazy! It sure kept me interested. I thought the end could have been done differently though.
Ellen Page plays a 14 yr old girl that meets Patrick Wilson through the internet. She goes to his house and she thinks he is a pedophile so she plans to expose him.
She makes him a drink and puts something in it and he passes out. He wakes up tied to a chair. She tears his house apart trying to find something to prove that he is a sicko. He has photos of models all over his house because he is a photographer.

The crazy girl decides she's going to castrate him because she thinks that's what he deserves. She has him tied down to a table. She's telling him that she has read up on how to do it. She sets up a camera so he can watch. She iced him for a long time and then decides it's time. Of course he's freaking out. When she's done she decides to put his "you know what's" in the food disposal.

Ok, she really didn't do it. She had popped a tape of the procedure into the vcr. He's relieved that all of him is still there. Then she proceeds to try and hang him. The end of the movie she convinces him to jump off the roof with a rope around his neck and he dies. Yeah, strange movie.

Needless to say...watching those two movies in one evening left me feeling kind of awful.

I'm off to finish another movie now. But before I go, I have to say Gabriel Macht is so cute!!  Google him if you don't know who he is.  Goodnight.

Get Low

Watched another good movie tonight..thought you'd like to know, Sarah. :)
It's called "Get Low".  It's about this old guy that has a secret he has lived with his whole life and he wants to tell it before he dies.  Very good. I cried in the end.
